2004/2005 show
season
Australian
Championships 2005
After a day settling in
we woke to constant rain for the dressage. We were both rapt with
the horses, as both improved on their past performances. Maaritza
again trudged into new territory completing her first ever Novice test
in fine style, just missing a Top ten placing. Kumait was a much
more relaxed competitor this year and achieved a Top 10 placing in both
the Purebred Novice and Elementary tests.
After a quick bath Maaritza fronted up for the Led purebred mare shown
by an amateur owner, in which, to our delight, she was awarded
Australian Champion.
Friday saw Kumait awarded Australian Champion Purebred Stallion Bridle
Path Hack. He did not put a foot wrong and kept giving everything
I asked for throughout the class.
Maaritza's ridden was first up for us on Saturday, and despite a nervous
rider she worked really well. Amongst some very talented and
experienced mares, we were simply hoping for her to be placed in
the Top 10. When her number was called and she was announced
Australian Champion Mare Under Saddle, we were
absolutley ecstatic.

Feature Show 2005
After a week of madly
washing rugs, clothes and trying to recover from Sydney. We set
off for the Feature Show with four horses in tow. With a very
soggy beginning the show proved to be a great success and a credit to
all of those involved in it's planning and running. Saturday saw
Maaritza awarded purebred Champion of Champions in the halter ring as
well as Reserve Champion Ridden.
The Feature show's huge youth focus is fantastic in our eyes, as well as
in the eyes of Chris, our 10 year old, who was there at only his second
show with his adorable Arabian Pony 'Gracie'. Chris & Gracie make
a great pair. Chris was ecstatic when Gracie was awarded most attractive
derivative female head in a large and strong class. His first Rosette!

East Coast
Championships 2005
Our first trip to
Sydney with the Gooseneck! After settling in
and resigning themselves to the humidity the horses performed
admirably and achieving the following results:
D'Amors Maaritza Khan - Top 5 Ridden Purebred Mare
D'Amors Maaritza Khan - Top 5 Led Mare 4 Years & Over
Cedarwood Lodge Kumait - Reserve Champion Ridden Purebred Stallion.
Cedarwood Lodge Kumait - Top 5 Purebred Bridle Path Hack over 15hh
We were ecstatic with Maartiza's efforts both in the ridden and halter
classes. This was Maaritza's first experience under saddle in
Sydney, and although green and
relatively inexperienced under saddle she was exceptional and handled
the pressure like a veteran.
